Devastation.......

As many of my blogging friends would have heard about in the city of Toowoomba where we live and work, there is devastation beyond words.  The Lockyer Valley is about a 20 minute drive from where I live.

My brain is overloaded and I am numb from thinking about the awful happenings there.

I am currently away on 'holidays'.  The weather went from bad to worse and now it seems we will be here for a little while - at least until the floods go down.

My thoughts and prayers go to all who have been affected by this.  Not just the happenings of the last week, but the whole season we have had - lost crops, livliehoods, hopes and dreams.

We are safe and so are our family - for this I am grateful.

It's just terrible. I think even worse when we know so well the areas affected too. What a terrible thing for these families. It's wonderful that you are all safe.... and it's a sad way to have a reminder of how lucky we really are.

Leisa, here in Western Australia we have been thinking of you all in Queensland and praying for your safety. So glad your family is ok but the devastation and damage must be just unbelievable. We have seen a lot of footage in the media but nothing would compare to seeing it in real life as you are.
In our part of WA we are battling severe water shortages - crazy isn't it??
