One Egg, Two Lemons......

We have an egg!!!! The girls from the bottom of the garden are maybe going to earn their keep! One of them finally laid an egg - mind you a small one at that!

Our tiny lemon tree has had two lemons ripening now since we planted. We were advised to cut them off when it was planted but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Mmmmm, one egg, two lemons. Maybe Lemon Delicious Pudding might be on the menu!

I have never cut the fruit off the new little trees either Leisa and I don't think it really does them any harm! It's just too exciting to have your own produce. My hens are laying well at the moment too so we are enjoying boiled eggs and toast soldiers...a real hit with my Sam. We aren't very good "farmers" though as we have so many roosters because neither John or I like the thought of...how shall I put it...."disposing" of them. They all get along pretty well including the geese and one duck.
Happy cooking.Oh, AND eating.
