My Carnival Garden & A Giveaway........

What a lovely busy week I have had. We are thrilled to have gained a second place for our garden.

Our afternoon at the announcement of the winners in the park was so enjoyable. The gardens were just coming into full flower. The city council does a wonderful job. We also enjoyed our afternoon at the Council reception too!

We have been getting our garden tidied again, just in case we get any visitors. I am so pleased how it has all come together, certainly worth the time we have put in. I hope I get some time to enjoy it this week.

Two of my lovely friends came and had lunch with me yesterday and then we enjoyed a wander around the garden.

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Garden Competition is in its 59th year and is the longest running garden competition in Australia. This Saturday is the Carnival Parade and there are many wonderful activities on in the city this week.

So now for a little GIVEAWAY to Celebrate.
I was as excited as anyone else when the lovely Victoria magazine came back into print. So I subscribed. I waited and waited and then thought I had dreamed my subscription and of course didn't get around to checking it out. I have purchased the first four new issues as they came out at the newsagent AND THEN this week the July/August issue arrived in the mailbox! Can't work it out and still haven't tried to!
SO - if you would love a copy of Victoria and haven't been fortunate enough to be able to get it where you live you are more than welcome to enter into the giveaway. Tell me your favourite springtime flowers - I would love to hear. I think I have two - Sweet Peas and Ranunculi - did you see some of mine in the pics above?
Wishing you a lovely weekend wherever you may be. I know I am looking forward to my Springtime weekend in my garden and home.

Hi Leisa,
Your garden looks lovely. It is such a nice time of the year. My favourite spring flowers are also sweet peas but I also adore freesias and crocus'. They are all so delicate. What a great magazine to look at, looks full of yummy things to browse.

I’ve had some exercise while walking around your lovely garden!

My favourite Spring flowers are snow drops, well actually they are late Winter flowers. A also love tulips, lilies of the valley and helleborus. I’m a white flower lover!

Hi Leisa,

You have a beautiful garden seeing your pictures and congrats on your winning second prize with it.
I know that gardening is a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I always enjoy my garden the most in Spring with all those lovely bulbs, like narcissus, tulips and especially wallflowers. They smell so lovely.
Have a nice day,
Hugs from Holland/Ineke

Your garden really is beautiful. There seems to be something interesting to look at in every direction - it really must have been hard work to get it to the stage you have, well done. My favourite spring flowers (in UK) are narcissi.

Congratulations on your second placing in the Carnival Gardens Judging Leisa. Your beautiful garden will only improve with time. You've done such a wonderful job.
I love all flowers but there is nothing that reminds me of Spring more than seeing all the gorgeous flowering fruit trees in bloom with the underplanting of bulbs. I also love the sweet little pansies and violas with their smiling faces. I do hope I get to see your Garden this year.

Congratulations Leisa and family on achieving 2nd place in your garden competition. Your garden is lovely. I just got from the library yesterday the 2008-2009 Australia's Open Garden Magazine and have been drooling over that. Maybe you could enter into that next!! My favourite flower is the rose have many of those but for spring colour I love the iris. Planted a newer variety this year which is a little shorter not sure if I like it as much. Good luck with your garden and I am sure lots of people will call past to look. If I could hop into a plane today I would be there like a shot.
Have a great day.

What a dream of a garden and huge congratulations. Everything floral is on the wane here as we batten down the hatches for the autumn (frosts already). I adore your banner btw. I bet you put a lot of work into your patch, well worth it. Just lovley.
